Love that Ne-Yo did the first single, “Never Knew I Needed,” from the motion picture soundtrack to The Princess and The Frog, starring Disney’s first black princess.

I’m already brain-washing teaching Sascha about the movie, the characters, the location (New Orleans, we took a trip there last year) and Princess Tiana’s job (she owns a restaurant just like Sascha wants to, well after she becomes a doctor, a dancer, queen of the world and a mommy.)

Princess Tiana & Prince Naveen

**Sidebar: There’s a bit of controversy surrounding the movie already because Princess Tiana’s Prince happens to be not black. His name is Naveen, his ethnicity? I’m not sure. But BET.com says he has a “El DeBarge/Cab Calloway/Rick Fox” complexion and bone-structure. (Can you see me Shaking My Head?!??!) While some have hailed Disney’s decision as a reflection of melting pot America, others say the company is sending out a mixed message.

What do you think?!?!??!?!

Anyway, the video is cute and ties in elements from the flick which opens, November 25.

“Never Knew I Needed” will be available on iTunes on Tuesday, Nov 3rd.
